4.2. Eco-development activities
* Organizing State level workshop for the implementing
officers to share the experiences of eco-development in
TBGP and discussing the plans for TBGPCCR
* Organizing Kick-off meetings for the stakeholders to
discuss the overall plans for eco development
* Conducting Field level micro-planning exercises in 155
EDC villages to facilitate participatory planning of ecodevelopment plans
* Constitution of Eco-Development Committees and their
Executive Committees
* Organizing Study tours for the target EDCs to visit other
successful groups such as EDCs, VFCs, and SHGs
* Completion of eco-development plans in each target
village by way of addressing socio-economic and
ecological requirements
* Organizing a Nattu vaidyar (traditional medicine
practitioner) conference to preserve traditional knowledge
among tribal and local people at five places viz. Kolli Hills,
Yercaud, Kalrayans, Jamnamarathur and Kallakurichi
* Heritage conservation at
a) Kullar Caves in Patramanagalam RF
b) Gudiyam Caves in Pulikundrum RF
c) Mel Siddhar Kovil at Kanjamalai RF
d) Kariyaramar Kovil at Kurumbapatti RF
